For Shaquille Wyan Que, bronze medalists at the 58th International Mathematical Olympiad, learning is at the core of his passions, which in turn drives him to excel especially in mathematics.
“I have a lot of passions but what really drives me is learning. Learning about new things. Learning how stuff works. It also drives me to excel because I love what I do so it is kind of self-motivating. I love math because it’s about learning. Through math you learn more about the world. It makes sense of the world. Math explains a lot of phenomena. If we understand math, it adds more meaning to life in the sense that it adds structure, which keeps you motivated and disciplined to learn more (about) math.”
